Oilers Entertainment Group Honoured with Northern Lights Award of Distinction

Rogers Place hosts 2017 Chamber Ball for an Evening of Brilliance

(Edmonton, AB)—Earlier this evening over 1,200 members of Edmonton’s business community congregated downtown at ICE District’s focal point, Rogers Place, to enjoy an ‘’evening of brilliance” during Edmonton’s most prestigious business gala, the 2017 Edmonton Chamber of Commerce Chamber Ball.

At the gala, the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce presented Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) with the Northern Lights Award of Distinction, which recognizes organizations that have made a positive and lasting impact in the community.

“It is such a great honour to accept the Northern Lights Award of Distinction on behalf of Daryl and Renee Katz and the entire staff at OEG. As a proud member of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce, OEG is honoured to join such a prestigious group of award recipients,” said OEG CEO & Vice Chairman Bob Nicholson. “Not only am I proud to accept this award in regards to OEG making a positive impact within the community of Edmonton, but I am also honoured to host Edmonton’s business and community leaders tonight at this beautiful gala at Rogers Place. These integral partnerships are the very core and foundation of OEG, and the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is one of OEG’s pillar partnerships.

“The Northern Lights Award of Distinction is awarded to organizations that have made a positive and enduring difference in the community,” said Janet Riopel, President and CEO of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. “It’s our privilege to recognize the exceptional leadership of the Oilers Entertainment Group with this well-deserved award. OEG has made strong and sustainable contributions towards the revitalization of Edmonton’s downtown core and, in the process, has fueled the engagement and imagination of so many others.”

The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest Chambers in Canada and proudly serves its 2,291 members, representing over 111,000 employees, to achieve its mission of creating the best environment for business. Chamber Ball guests had an opportunity to explore unique spaces in Rogers Place including the Oilers Hall of Fame Room. The city’s business and community leaders capped the night off by enjoying a fine dining experience in Ford Hall followed by an evening of entertainment provided by multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter, Johnny Reid.
