Rogers Place Unveils Bobby Nick’s Burger

(Edmonton, AB) – Earlier this summer, RogersPlace.com gave readers a sneak-peek at some of the fresh, local eats that could appear at Rogers Place this fall. Today, Oilers Entertainment Group and Aramark, the food and beverage provider at Rogers Place, unveiled a signature menu item – and one that is sure to become a Rogers Place fan-favourite – the Bobby Nick’s Burger.

Created by and named after Oilers Entertainment Group CEO and Vice Chairman Bob Nicholson, the Bobby Nick’s Burger is as sweet and spicy as the man himself. Layered on a toasted brioche bun, an Alberta Beef patty sets the stage for cheddar cheese, dill pickles, jalapeños, leaf lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and is topped off with some crispy smoked bacon. Mustard and a signature sauce created by Bob himself round out the juicy burger.

“It’s quite the honour. I had the privilege of creating a few different burgers and this was the fourth one we looked at. This is going to have a little bit of bite, there’s no question,” said Nicholson. “It has Alberta Beef, some fresh lettuce and tomatoes and is then topped off with jalapeños to give it that extra little wow!”

Nicholson collaborated with Chef Johnny Blackerby, Aramark Executive Chef at Rogers Place, to develop the signature burger.

“Our goal was to work with Bob to create a featured burger that not only reflects his personality, but incorporates ingredients that are local to Canada and local to Edmonton. When we were in the test kitchen, Bob immersed himself in the burger building process,” said Blackerby. “I think we scored a crowd pleaser with the Bobby Nick’s Burger and you’ll only be able to find it here at Rogers Place.”

Bobby Nick’s Grill will have a permanent home on the west side of the main concourse at Rogers Place and the burgers will also be offered at concessions throughout the building. For more on the Bobby Nick’s Burger, check out this week’s episode of ICE Level on RogersPlace.com.
