Girls Hockey Takeover Tailgate
Get ready for an unforgettable pre-game celebration at the Girls Hockey Takeover Tailgate—the ultimate way to kick off the matchup between Vancouver and Boston!
Taking place from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Fan Park, this high-energy tailgate is all about celebrating girls in hockey and the incredible impact of the women’s game. Fans will have the chance to explore a special showcase from the Hockey Hall of Fame, featuring iconic memorabilia that highlights the history and achievements of women’s hockey.
The event will be buzzing with excitement, including a live DJ spinning music, interactive hockey-themed games, hands-on crafts, and a poster-making station where fans can create signs to cheer on their favorite players. Plus, enjoy delicious eats from a local food truck while soaking in the pre-game atmosphere.
Whether you’re a young player, a lifelong fan, or just looking for a fun night out, this tailgate is the perfect way to celebrate the game and build the hype before puck drop!

EDMONTON TO HOST TWO PWHL TAKEOVER TOUR™ NEUTRAL-SITE GAMES AT ROGERS PLACE
GAMES TO FEATURE MINNESOTA AND VANCOUVER ON DECEMBER 27 AND BOSTON AND VANCOUVER ON APRIL 7
November 10, 2025 (Edmonton, AB) – The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced today that Rogers Place will host two of the 16 neutral-site games in the expanded 2025-26 PWHL Takeover Tour™. This exciting tour brings many of the top women’s hockey players in the world to cities across North America, giving fans a chance to experience the competitiveness of the PWHL’s regular season in their own communities.
As part of this special tour, Rogers Place will host a matchup between the Minnesota Frost and Vancouver Goldeneyes on Saturday, December 27, with the game beginning at 1:00 PM MT. The second Edmonton game of the tour will feature the Boston Fleet and Vancouver Goldeneyes at Rogers Place on Tuesday, April 7 with puck drop at 7:30 PM MT.
Tickets will be available starting with a presale on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 10:00 AM MT, followed by the general on-sale on Friday, Nov. 14 at 10:00 AM MT. Tickets are available at thepwhl.com/tickets.
This season’s 16 games will be contested in 11 different locations spanning the United States and Canada. The PWHL will visit seven new cities, including Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Halifax, Hamilton, Washington, D.C. and Winnipeg, and will return to Denver, Detroit, Edmonton and Québec City. Last season’s Tour drew 123,601 fans with record-breaking crowds across nine games, sparking new fan engagement, and expanding the PWHL’s reach beyond its home markets. Rogers Place was the fifth stop on the 2024-25 PWHL Takeover Tour™ where the Toronto Sceptres defeated the Ottawa Charge 3-2 in overtime on February 16 in front of a sold-out crowd of 17,518.
