EDMONTON – The percentage of the population which gets it, truly gets it, is minimal.
Yes, there’s no lack of anticipation and excitement for the new Rogers Place downtown arena and entertainment district. But those who absolutely understand that what’s now coming out of the ground is beyond being another modern new arena are in the minority.
This is going to be THE arena in the world.
Sit beside Dan Vaillant on the outdoor patio on the 28th floor of the EPCOR Tower overlooking the Roger’s Place construction site Monday, and you’d get it.
The formal part of the rooftop press conference had concluded and the senior vice-president of the Icon Venue Group agreed to give me a couple of minutes of one-on-one interview time before a tour through the construction site to big-picture this project.
